Hmm. A MIDI meter could show velocity as peaks and be thin for monophonic material and grow if more notes are hit.

A MIDI fader should send controller 7 by default, I guess. Scaling velocity or switching to another controller number could be options. Then again, scaling velocity is a candidate for a plugin.

I did neither and worked on controller sending automation tracks instead :)

Glad to hear you’re back on track (you punny guy!)

I know how you feel about losing your flow. Just remember that as pumped as you are about it, there are legions (okay, maybe just squadrons) of Ardour fans out there wishing you the best.
